Unlike standard wearables that estimate blood pressure using optical (PPG) sensors, BP Doctor integrates a proprietary micro-air pump and inflatable cuff. It utilizes the oscillometric method—the same gold standard used in professional upper-arm monitors—to capture physical pressure oscillations directly from the radial artery.

To accurately capture the systolic and diastolic peaks, the air cuff will briefly inflate to a pressure of approximately 200 mmHg to occlude blood flow. This physical compression is a hallmark of authentic blood pressure measurement and is necessary for data integrity.

While both models feature our core air-cuff technology, they are optimized for different performance tiers:

Yes. Both the strap and the integrated air cuff are fully replaceable. For hygiene or maintenance, we recommend replacing them periodically. You can purchase original replacement kits directly from our "Accessories" collection to ensure continued measurement precision and comfort.

BP Doctor is rated for daily splash resistance. However, due to the precision-engineered micro-air pump and integrated air cuff, the device is not suitable for showering, swimming, or prolonged submersion. Exposure to steam or high-pressure water may compromise the internal pneumatic system.
